Knott County man pleads not guilty to beating mentally handicapped man
A Knott County man is facing charges for allegedly assaulting a mentally handicapped man.
AC Patrick faces a second-degree assault charge.
He is accused of punching a man with a severe brain injury, knocking him down and beating him. Authorities said this happened on May 13.
Patrick pleaded not guilty. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for the 25th.
According to court documents, the victim ended up with six cracked ribs, a cracked vertebra and a possible broken hand.
