Kentucky woman tests positive for West Nile Virus
One woman, who may be one of the first people in Kentucky to test positive for the West Nile Virus this year, talked to our sister station WKYT.
"It has been awful," said Ann Burks. "I wouldn't wish it on, no, my worst enemy."
Burks said she does not remember when a mosquito bit her.
She lives in Louisville and said it took doctors three weeks to diagnose her.
She now has to worry about the possibility of lifelong issues and serious problems like meningitis.
The CDC said there has been 128 cases of West Nile in the country so far this year. Four have died.
