LONDON, Ky. (AP) - A former Kentucky accountant accused of paying for sex with young women who were addicted to drugs faces federal conspiracy charges.

The Herald-Leader reports 49-year-old Mark Milslagle, of Lexington, was charged Monday in federal court with conspiring to distribute drugs and conspiring to engage in sex trafficking. According to court documents, this happened in Whitley and Laurel Counties between 2015 and 2019.

Prosecutors allege that 72-year-old Logan Ray Towery provided drugs to young women then passed them on to Milslagle for sex. Towery has been indicted on similar conspiracy charges and a gun charge.

One victim told police she was 17 when she first met Towery. Todd E. Tremaine, a special agent with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said Towery then started requiring her to perform sex acts to get the drugs and pay off debts.

Milslagle's attorney declined to comment.
