Kentucky State Police warn about counterfeit money in Eastern Kentucky

(WYMT) - Kentucky State Police say they are investigating counterfeit money in the Floyd, Johnson, Martin, Magoffin and Pike counties area.

Troopers said they are looking into a forged $100 bill and are concerned there may be more bills circulating in the area.

They said the bill resembles a $100 bill but does not have a series number or any security features.

Troopers said the bill also has a different feel than standard currency and has small Chinese writing on the back, which appears to be stamped on the bill.

The serial number for the bill is B17696366.

Troopers say if anyone comes in contact with this bill or any other counterfeit money to call Kentucky State Police at (606) 433-7711.
