The 2020 Kentucky High School Teacher of the Year was arrested this weekend.

The Courier-Journal reports Matt Kaufmann was protesting the death of Breonna Taylor in Downtown Louisville.

Kaufmann teaches in Jefferson County Public Schools and faces an unspecified misdemeanor charge.

Police arrested at least 40 people during Sunday's protests.
