ROCKHOLDS, Ky. (WYMT/WKYT) - Kentucky State Police were called to a home in Whitley County after fire crews found a body.

The fire happened at a home on Gail Hart Road Friday afternoon in the Rockholds community.

"When I called 911 and told them I thought my neighbor's house was on fire, then the flames burst through the roof," said neighbor Wilma Carter.

Fire crews found the body after putting out the flames. The cause of death is unknown at this time, and troopers are conducting a death investigation.

"Didn't really know them. Didn't even know their name, really," said Carter.

We are told the body is unidentifiable. It will be autopsied by the state medical examiner.

Arson investigators were called to the scene.
