The Johnson Central Golden Eagles were the third and final Mountain team to compete for a State Championship in Lexington this weekend.

The Golden Eagles lost to the Franklin-Simpson Wildcats by two points, 14-12.

Johnson Central had a chance to tie the game following a five-yard Joe Jackson touchdown with 57-seconds to play, but the Golden Eagles were unable to convert the two-point conversion.

Franklin-Simpson recovered the onside kick attempt as well, helping secure their second straight Class 4A Championship.
