Independent wins Judge Executive race in Floyd County

FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) Floyd County is heading in a new direction as they elect an Independent to the counties top seat.

Robbie Williams beat out John B. Derossett and James "Jimmy" Rose capturing 41 percent of the vote.

"I felt confident I had such a. Good team, good folks around me a good message I felt pretty confident we were going to come out on top tonight," said Williams.

Williams is believed to be the only Independent to win a Judge Executives race in Kentucky this election.

"I had a consistent message my message didn't change you know through the process I understand the folks of Floyd County are looking for some leadership, someone to rejuvenate, revitalize, jumpstart the economy here in Floyd County and they just weren't looking for a change they were looking for a transformation," Williams said after he won.
