HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - Fog will greet you in a lot of areas as you head out the door this morning, so give yourself plenty of time on the roads.
Today and Tonight
We'll start out with sun and clouds and chilly temps early. They will not climb a lot later, thanks to increasing clouds by afternoon and scattered rain chances that will arrive with our next system late afternoon going into the early evening.
Highs will be right around 50 today before dropping into the 40s overnight. Temperatures may actually go back up a little bit after midnight and rain chances will increase throughout the overnight hours.
As mentioned above, I think our overnight low/coldest temperature will be right at midnight in the mid to upper 40s. After that, temps briefly spike back to around 50 and then slowly drop throughout the day.
Friday will be a soggy one, with rain chances around all day and into the evening hours. Some models trying to show some snow showers developing late in the evening, but I think the bulk of the moisture will be gone before that can happen. I do expect to see some flurries late into the overnight hours and early Saturday. Lows will drop into the upper 20s.
After those flurries Saturday morning, skies will clear out, giving way to mostly sunny skies. It will be a cold day, with most not making it out of the upper 30s. Under clear skies, lows Saturday night will dip into the mid, and for some, low 20s.
Veteran's Day on Sunday looks pretty good with sunny skies and slightly warmer temperatures getting back closer to the 50-degree mark. Lows will drop into the mid-30s.
I know there is a lot of chatter going around with a couple of systems we are watching next week. It is still too early to pin down what is exactly going to happen, so don't buy into any forecast just yet. It will likely evolve significantly in the coming days.
