Hundreds attend KVEC summit in Pikeville

PIKEVILLE, Ky (WYMT) - Students and teachers from across the region gathered in Pikeville Wednesday for Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative's Action Research Summit.

Last fall, KVEC handed out grants to help pay for "outside of the box" projects. Wednesday, educators took a look at how teachers and students used the money.

"It's wonderful, really great," said Dessie Bowling, the associate director of KVEC. "One of the things that you'll see when you go downstairs is our Mobile Inquiry Learning Lab that we call the MILL. That is something we just started talking about in January."

Students from 17 districts were at the summit presenting projects they've worked on for months.
