HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - It's back to work and school on this Monday with some patchy dense fog this morning and another hot day ahead.
Today and Tonight
Mostly sunny skies will again be the headline today. There could be a few more clouds early, but that should start to clear out. I can't rule out a stray chance for a passing shower or storm, but I think most folks will stay dry. Highs will again be in the low 90s with the heat index feeling like the mid to upper 90s. Be sure you stay hydrated and keep taking your heat precautions.
Tonight, the stray rain chance continues under partly cloudy skies. Lows will drop to around 70.
Tuesday and Wednesday
The forecast pattern doesn't change a lot on Tuesday and Wednesday, but the rain chances go up some from stray to scattered. Right now, they look to be around 30% each day with sun and clouds in between.
Highs on Tuesday will stay in the low 90s and drop into the upper 80s on Wednesday.
Lows both nights, under partly cloudy skies, will drop to around 70.
We could be looking at a possible front on Thursday and early Friday. I've bumped Thursday's rain chances up to 40% and we might have to continue to go up, depending on model trends. The best chances for rain on Friday would be early and in the heat of the day. I think most of them will be gone in time for the kickoff of high school football in the mountains.
Highs both days will be in the mid-80s with lows dropping into the mid to upper 60s.
We'll keep you posted!
