High water causing issues in Whitley County

WOODBINE, Ky. (WYMT) - High water is causing some issues in parts of Whitley County.

WYMT's Hannah Reynolds was on Highway 26 near the Woodbine community traveling between Corbin and Williamsburg when she came across water on the road.

One car was turning around to avoid the flood waters and ended up stuck.

Emergency crews on scene directed traffic and helped turn people around to avoid dangerous waters. The water lasted several hours.

We spoke to business owners that say rain doesn't typically cause high waters like these. But they say when they do happen it usually is not this quick.

Rain will continue through the weekend.
