Frosty start gives way to a warmer day

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - It looks like it will be a chilly start to the morning with most folks running in the mid to upper 30s under clear skies. A Frost Advisory is in effect for most of the region until 9 a.m.

Today and Tonight
After the frosty start, temps will warm up quickly, thanks to warm air surging in from the southwest. Under sunny skies, we'll get right back up into the mid-70s this afternoon and should only drop into the mid-50s under clear skies tonight.

Sunny skies again dominate the forecast on Wednesday as highs get close to 80 once again. We add a few more clouds on Wednesday night. A couple of the models are trying to pick up on a scattered rain chance that evening, but I'm not ready to put my eggs in that basket yet. Just something to keep on your radar, pun intended.

Extended Forecast
Thursday we bring in a few more clouds with a small chance for a few showers late Thursday night. Highs will once again be in the upper 70s to lower 80s.

It looks like another system approaches the mountains Friday and Saturday. Right now the best chance for rain will be on Friday with scattered chances throughout the day Saturday. Another cool down might be in store for us on Saturday as well. Looks like we clear out Easter Sunday though with highs back into the 70s.

We'll continue to monitor this system throughout the week.
