From behind bars to behind pulpits; One man's story of overcoming addiction

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - In and out of jail for years, Michael Clark never imagined himself standing behind a pulpit.

"I never grew up in church, I never really been to church," explained Clark.

After battling with an addiction to drugs, he believed happiness would never come but after getting saved while incarcerated, he knew right then he had to share the word of God.

"I was so full of the word of God that if a mosquito bit me it would've flown away singing there is power in the blood," laughed Clark.

Now after three years of being clean, he is going around sharing his story in hopes to touch the lives of people who may be struggling like he once did.

"I went through all those tests to give my testimony, and a lot of messes so I can deliver messages."

Giving hope to others that they can overcome this battle and wanting everyone to understand that no matter what you are going through, God will be with you every step of the way.

"I want to tell you that the lord has already forgiven you, you just got to call on him and believe."
