Five arrested in Boyd County drug investigation

BOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) - More than $33,000 worth of drugs is off the streets in Boyd County after five people were arrested Friday.

Kenneth Hunt, 56, of Westwood and James Wright, 42, and Jamie Wright, 31, of Greenup County were charged after deputies say they found the group inside Hunt's home on West Old Buckley.

Deputies found heroin, meth, marijuana, and prescription medications. Then they raided a stash house where they found more drugs, counterfeit money, and guns.

A motel room was also raided Friday. Deputies found Walter Gipson, 35, of Summit, and Bryttani Finley, 28, of Cattletsburg, at the Knight's Inn in Summit.

The pair is charged with trafficking meth.

Overall, deputies say they seized almost 130 grams of heroin with an estimated street value of more than $28,000, and more than $5,000 in meth.

All five were taken to the Boyd County Detention Center.
