(WYMT) - Good morning! I know a lot of us have plans for Father's Day weekend. We're looking at both sunshine and storm chances.
The first half of your Father's Day Weekend looks great! Saturday highs will rebound back into the low 80s with mostly sunny skies. Saturday will start off with cloud cover but we will see sunshine by mid-morning. Expect mostly sunny skies for the afternoon! Be sure to wear sunscreen and stay hydrated if you are spending time outside. Clouds will start to increase throughout the overnight hours with temperatures dropping into the upper 60s. Folks near I-64 could catch a stray shower or storm after dinnertime.
Clouds increase Saturday night due to the system moving in on Sunday. Scattered showers and storms return by Sunday afternoon/evening. Right now the first half of your Father's Day is looking okay so if you want to get out early and play golf or go fishing the morning hours would be the best time. A few of those storms Sunday afternoon could be on the strong side at times.
Sadly the new week is not looking the best.
We increase those rain chances going into your Monday and continue those throughout the entire work week. Highs remain in the upper 70s to lower 80s throughout the week with overnight lows in the mid to upper 60s.
Overall just keep your rain gear handy throughout the week along with the WYMT Weather App.
