WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - The search continues for a convicted murderer accused of killing again.
Police said Nicholas Rucker killed his girlfriend, Vicki Conner, three weeks ago. Now, family members are working to get some money together in the hopes that a reward will lead to new information and an arrest.
It has been more than a week since anyone reported seeing Rucker. The last suspected spotting was in Tennessee but police have not confirmed it was actually him.
"We are just worried for the community in general," said Nancy Wagner, Connor's cousin. "He took her life senselessly and needlessly. And then he just took off."
Connor's family started a Facebook page called Justice for Vicki Connor. They hope to raise $10,000 for the reward.
"Vicki was the type of person that if I had a bad day, no matter what kind of day I had I could go over to her and lay in her arms and she would comfort me and listen to me," Wagner remembered.
Wagner believes someone is helping Rucker. If that is true, police said that person will also face charges.
"I believe that money will motivate somebody to come forward to say they have seen him and stay on him until law enforcement can get to him," Wagner said. "I don't know him personally. I know how he treated Vicki. He is a dangerous person."
Even if the family does not raise the full $10,000 reward, any money they get will go to the tipster. All information should be given to Kentucky State Police in London.
