Family, friends remember Jordan Tackett during pretrial for accused killer

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - In February, Jordan Tackett went missing in Floyd County.

His body was found in April, in a shallow grave behind the home of Wesley Martin. Martin was then arrested for the murder of Tackett.

Martin maintained a plea of not guilty in the initial trial and was scheduled for a pretrial hearing Thursday.

Though the family was unable to partake in the closed hearing, they showed up at the Floyd County Justice Center to memorialize Tackett and keep his name in the public eye.

His mother, Angel Knox, said the family will continue to attend the hearings until there is "justice for Jordan."

"He would give the shirt off his back to anyone. He would do for anybody and I just don't know why this happened," she said. "It should have never happened."

She said the community support and prayers are a driving force for the family since finding out Jordan's fate.

Now, she said they just want to see a resolution.
