Expecting plenty of sunshine this weekend
Plenty of sunshine, warm temperatures, and muggy conditions have been felt across the mountains on this Friday. It has been a great day to hit the pool and will be a fantastic evening to grill out and enjoy some time on the patio. The good news is if you liked today's weather, the forecast for the next few days is looking pretty similar.
We are expecting mostly clear skies with a little patchy dense fog to develop after midnight. Overnight lows will be in the upper 60s, so just a little cooler than the last few evenings. It should be a nice night to crack the window and save a little on the A/C.
The forecast looks like textbook Kentucky summer for the weekend. With high pressure staying in control of our weather expect mainly sunny skies on both Saturday and Sunday. Highs will be in the upper 80s both days, but the humidity level will make it feel like lower to mid 90s. We can't rule out a few isolated afternoon storms either day, but chances are just at 20 percent. It will be a really nice weekend to hit the lake or pool. Just make sure to wear sunscreen.
Monday and Tuesday will feature similar conditions to the weekend, except clouds will be a little more prevalent and high temperatures will be just a bit cooler. The extra clouds will be coming off of what will be left of Tropical Storm Barry. These may also spark off a few additional showers early in the week.
The better chances of rain come on Wednesday and Thursday as what is left of Barry will be picked up by passing cold front and slung across the Ohio River Valley. On these days we are expecting mostly cloudy skies with several rounds of rain. Temperatures will be a bit cooler with highs in the mid to lower 80s.
