Expect big crowds if you are Christmas shopping this weekend

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Saturday before Christmas is known as super Saturday to shoppers.

It's the second busiest shopping day of the year, behind Black Friday and you better expect crowds for last minute gifts.

Our sister station WKYT talked with shoppers at the Fayette Mall.

"They look so stressed, it's a great feeling for me knowing I don't have to do that. I start early," said Elaine Jordan.

Then there are also those that seem to make it a tradition to start their list hours before the big day.

"Some people like to do that, they see that as a part of the season. My stress level, my blood pressure won't take that," said William Wilson.

Many stores are opening early and extending their hours throughout the weekend.

The Fayette mall will be staying open until 10 p.m. Friday night and 11 p.m. and will also stay open on Christmas Eve until 6 p.m.
