LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WYMT/WKYT) - A worker at a candy manufacturer in Kentucky has been diagnosed with hepatitis A.
Our sister station WKYT reports, the FDA is investigating the case regarding an employee working at Bauer's Candies in Lawrenceburg.
Officials said the worker was diagnosed on Nov. 27.
They said people who bought candy while the employee worked there are at a very low risk of getting sick.
The health department did not advise customers to throw out any of the company's candy.
"Bauer's Candies has cooperated fully with this investigation and will continue to do so moving forward," the company said in a statement. It also confirmed it mandated for all employees to be vaccinated in October.
