(WYMT) - President Donald Trump's nomination of an Eastern Kentucky man to serve on the Board of Governors of the United States Postal Service was approved Tuesday.

U.S. Senate Majority Leader and Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell commented on the Senate's confirmation of Robert M. "Mike" Duncan of Inez:

"I would like to congratulate my friend Mike Duncan on his confirmation to serve on the Board of Governors of the United States Postal Service. Time and again, Mike has chosen to employ his talents in the service of others, and our Commonwealth and our nation are better off as a result. The USPS provides many important services across Kentucky and our nation, and Mike has the expertise to help oversee its future. He will do an outstanding job on the Board, and I am confident that he will make us proud."
