(WYMT) - Good morning! Today we will be much drier than yesterday.
After a soggy and stormy day yesterday, we will be mainly dry for your Friday. We will hang onto those mostly cloudy skies for the morning hours as that front continues to push through the mountains. Sunshine will return by the afternoon hours with highs in the mid 80s. That is where highs should be this time of year! Throughout the day a stray shower cannot be ruled out as the front continues to push through. However, most of us will stay dry. We'll be mostly clear throughout the overnight hours with lows dropping into the upper 60s.
This weekend will feature more sunshine and a stray chance for a few showers. Those showers look to remain south near the Tennessee border with highs in the mid to upper 80s. We will continue to see those muggy conditions as well this weekend.
I think the best chance for rain will be Sunday but both days do look mostly dry. Keep the WYMT Weather App handy if you are out on the lake or by the pool this weekend. Make sure to wear your sunscreen as well!
There is some uncertainty as we head into the new work week.
We are keeping a close eye on Tropical Storm Barry down in the gulf. This could impact us sometime during the work week bringing more cloud cover and rain.
For now, we only have scattered chances throughout the work week with highs in the mid to upper 80s with lows in the upper 60s to lower 70.
This forecast could change a lot depending on that tropical disturbance. We'll continue to keep you updated.
