Update: Woman hit and killed by train in Mingo County

MINGO COUNTY, W. Va. (WYMT/WSAZ) - 911 dispatchers in Mingo County, West Virginia confirm that a woman was hit and killed by a train Thursday afternoon.

The Mingo County Sheriff's Department was on the scene in Naugatuck, where a Norfolk Southern train hit and killed one person around 4 p.m.

According to the Mingo County Sheriff's Department, Alyson Davis, 35 of Naugatuck, is the victim.

Deputies believe she walked to a nearby gas station when she was hit by the train.

No foul play is suspected.

Both the sheriff’s department and railroad detectives are investigating the incident.
