WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - Dayspring Dental is joining Dayspring Health in providing services for staff and students at Williamsburg Independent.
Dayspring Dental staff said they will provide preventative measures, like screenings, this school year.
Dayspring Health opened its clinic in Williamsburg last fall and school officials say the addition will help get the students and teachers more complete access to healthcare.
"With dental, we are going to be able to address some of those needs that may have been occurring for the past two or three years for students," said Tim Melton, Williamsburg Independent Schools Superintendent.
Directors with Dayspring Dental said the goal is to identify students with urgent dental needs and make sure they get adequate treatment.
"Students can't learn you know when they're in pain. So we're hoping to give students the best possible future that we can," said Kayla Fields DMD, Dayspring Health Dental Director.
Fields said the students will be transported from the school to their clinic in Williamsburg, thanks to funding through the Elgin Children's Foundation.
The dental services will start in September.
