Daughter holds on to hope eight months after mother goes missing

(WYMT) - Annie LaCaria and her family have been searching for her mother, Debbie LaCaria, for more than eight months.

Kentucky State Police say Debbie LaCaria, 59, was reported missing on March 10, 2017. Troopers say she was last seen in February near her home on Highway 3193 in Jackson in Breathitt County. She is described as a white woman who is around five feet tall and weighs about 140 pounds.

Annie LaCaria tells WYMT it is not like her mother to take off without saying anything. Annie said she went to check on her mother during severe weather, which was when she realized she was missing. While she said they are originally from Chicago, their family there has not seen or heard from her either. Annie said she and her family are very concerned for her well-being, especially as the weather gets colder.

"What if she's hungry, what if she's hurt, is she warm right now, because I know I'm not I'm cold, is she cold," Annie LaCaria, Debbie's daughter said. "We just want to know where she is, is she safe, to come home so that way we could see her, give her a hug, tell her we miss her and love her."

If anyone has any information they are encouraged to contact Kentucky State Police Post 13 at (606) 435-6069 or call your local law enforcement agency.
