The Knott County coroner confirmed to WYMT that a body was discovered at the Carr Creek Lake Marina near the boat ramp.
Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife officials found the 46-year-old man and his boat. They believe he fell off the boat overnight and drowned.
"At this point, we think he's fell out of the boat. He would normally do a lot of night fishing. This was a fairly common thing for the individual," said Knott County Coroner Corey Watson.
Officials identified the man as 46-year-old Jack Brian Pinyerd.
People who frequent the lake to relax and fish say the news was shocking to them.
"I was kinda surprised, I fished actually right there yesterday morning, so, it just goes to show you how fast stuff can happen," said Caleb Combs, who fishes there often.
Crews worked all morning to recover the body and boat. They do not suspect any foul play.
