DETROIT. (WYMT/WXYZ) - Officials with the Wayne County, Michigan Medical Examiner's Office tells us a Kentucky man was killed in Detroit Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Jimey Cox, 51. People who knew him tell us he grew up in Bell County. It is unclear whether he still lived there, but we are told he does still have family in the county.
WXYZ reports Cox was driving a pickup truck when he was shot Wednesday , causing him to crash into a street light.
Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene. People in the area said they heard at least two gunshots fired.
Police are investigating Cox's death as a homicide. Officials tell us the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
