Corbin's 3A title hopes fall with one point loss to Central

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) - The Corbin Redhounds were the second Mountain team to compete for a state football championship Friday, and the Redhounds were the second Eastern Kentucky team to fall short in the title game by one point.

Corbin scored late in the 4th quarter to trail by only one. The Redhounds opted to go for two points, but failed on the conversion attempt, resulting in a 20-19 score.

The Redhounds blocked a Central punt in the closing seconds, helping set up a 44-yard field goal try as time expired. But the kick was blocked, securing the Yellow Jacket victory.

Corbin finishes their season with a 13-2 record.
