West Knox Fire Chief Darryl Baker says they were sent to the scene around 8:30 a.m. on Monday.
Firefighters say the trailer was a total loss.
"This is a trailer used for storage for somebody and they've lost everything they stored and things like that but, it's a little bit easier on us when we know somebody is not out of their house," says Baker.
Homeowners told firefighters about the kittens that lived the trailer, but no kittens were found.
Keavy and Corbin fire departments also responded.
A Monday morning fire destroyed a trailer and several trucks.
The fire happened on Foley Road in Corbin.
A neighbor told WYMT the fire started around 9:30 a.m. He said the trailer was used for storage and burnt to the ground within 15 minutes.
Three pickup trucks next to the trailer were destroyed as well.
No people were in the trailer at the time of the fire, but the neighbor told us a litter of kittens lived inside. We do not know if they survived the fire. Chickens living in a coop close behind the trailer were unharmed.
The fire damaged the neighbor's home as well before it went out.
We are working to get more information from fire department officials. This will be updated.
