CORBIN, Ky. (WYMT) - The "splash pad" in downtown Corbin that has been in the works for several months has a new location.
The Patel Family that owns the Economy Inn across from City Hall in Corbin transferred the deed of the property to the city of Corbin, to use for the new attraction.
"We are so thrilled for the Patel family to be able to do this for the city, such generous people," says Mayor Suzie Barton Razmus.
Razmus says the property was donated in honor of Ish Patel's late wife.
"I think it is going to be a great asset for our citizens as well as tourists that come to our community," Razmus adds.
Razmus says the project is expected to be completed by the spring and will cost around $165,000.
