Waheedah Muhammad, with Kentucky chapter of Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), told WKYT that the news of the deadly mosques shootings has hit the Muslim communities, and others, all across the world hard.

Security is a concern for the mosque. Muhammad told WKYT that the mosque took security precautions Friday and continue to do so moving forward every Friday.

CAIR has shared security safety guidelines to Muslim communities all across the country.

The Kentucky Chapter reached out to Lexington's Mayor Office and the Lexington Police Department who are working with them.

Later Friday afternoon, members of the congregation will gather, along with members of other faiths, to show their support and solidarity.
