Original Story
A coal truck crashed in Clark County Tuesday night, blocking the eastbound lanes of I-64 at the Mountain Parkway exit.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet tells our sister station WKYT that a coal truck that crashed on the Mountain Parkway is hanging off of an overpass spilling coal onto I-64.

Traffic is being rerouted from I-64 East at exit 96/Paris Road

There are also reports of major backups on the Mountain Parkway as people try to access the interstate.

Officials say there was significant damage to the overpass and they are unsure if the roads will be clear by the morning rush. Westbound lanes of I-64 are open.

The driver was not injured and no cause is released.

This is a developing story.
