Closings, water shortages, snow forecast. Eastern Kentucky prepares for threat of severe weather.

(WYMT) - As the WYMT Severe Weather Alert Day continues during the weekend, Eastern Kentucky prepares for the drop in temperatures, wintry mix and snow.

Our weather team is constantly watching the severe conditions and will update the forecast  if anything changes.

WYMT crews are out investigating road conditions as the weather poses travel difficulties. We will have more information up on the website and during the 6 & 11 newscasts.

A rockslide blocked two lanes on Hwy 80 in Knott County.

Water Shortages:
With multiple counties under a state of emergency or dealing with water shortages, crews are scrambling to repair leaks and fill tanks. WYMT has reporters on the scene and will update the situation throughout the weekend.
