HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - Bundle up this morning! It's going to be chilly out there. The sunshine will warm us up quickly by the afternoon hours.
Today and Tonight
The forecast looks nowhere near what we should be seeing for this time of the year. The average high is 81 degrees at NWS Jackson. Our forecast high today, even with nearly full on sun, is only 75. Some spots may get a degree or two warmer, but even still. I'm not complaining, because we're going to pay for this at some point.
Tonight, mostly clear skies hang around and lows drop into the low to mid-50s in the valleys and upper 50s on the ridges.
For your Father's Day Weekend temperatures will be back into the low to mid-80s. Saturday will be beautiful with plenty of sunshine and dry conditions. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 60s.
Sunday, we bring back those scattered rain chances by the later afternoon/evening hours. If you want to go golfing or fishing with your dad this weekend Saturday looks like the best day!. It'll be a bit warmer on Sunday too, with highs pushing closer to the upper 80s.
The forecast for the new work week is great ... if you're a duck.
Get the rain gear back out and keep it handy. There are chances for showers and storms all the way from Sunday through next Thursday. Daytime highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s with overnight lows in the mid to upper 60s.
