5-year-old boy with Bell County ties drowns in Tennessee

SPEEDWELL, Tn, (WYMT) - WYMT learned Friday that a Kentucky boy with ties to Bell County drowned in Tennessee last week.

The Claiborne County Sheriff's Department confirms five-year-old Brantley Sterling Upton died May 18 in the Earl's Hollow area of Speedwell, Tennessee.

Upton was from Bell County, but was living in Speedwell.

The sheriff's department said Upton's cause of death was an accidental drowning.

According to the Creech Funeral Home in Middlesboro, Upton has a twin brother.

Upton's family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday night.

A funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel.

Creech Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
