An investigation is underway following the discovery of a body in
Breathitt County.
The coroner has identified the victim as Louis King, 80, from Jackson. We're told the body has been sent to Frankfort to the state medical examiners office to determine a cause of death.
It happened early Tuesday morning at Pan Bowl Lake near Jackson.
People who fish Pan Bowl lake often say this is an uncommon scene.
"We were gonna come down here fishin' this morning and I don't know what we woulda done had we come up on somethin' like that. You don't see that a lot, I mean especially around here," said Dakota Lucas a frequent fisher at the lake.
Officials tell WYMT they found a man near the boat ramp.
When people arrived to fish the lake in the morning they were surprised to see law enforcement.
"I just figured he was out here checking people for licenses and stuff," said Lucas.
Officials have sent King's body off for an autopsy at the Medical Examiners office in Frankfort.
