PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - Jenny Wiley Amphitheater will soon play host to a story of the Hatfield-McCoy feud.

"Bloodsong: The Story of the Hatfields and the McCoys" has been an ongoing production by the Hatfield and McCoy Arts Council in McCarr, Ky. The council has now partnered with Artists Collaborative Theatre, City of Prestonsburg, Prestonsburg Tourism and the Mountain Arts Center to help create a summer of productions.

They brought their popular show to the area to help Prestonsburg fuel its local theatre scene.

"It had all the elements of a great story and they have written an outstanding play for it," said Mayor Les Stapleton, who will step into the role of Judge "Wall" Hatfield in the production.

The production incorporates local talent and Stapleton says it promises to be worth the watch.

"These kids are amazing. They really are," Stapleton said. "The production's great. And, of course, the venue. Jelly Wiley Amphitheater: there's no place better!"
