Benefit concert scheduled for family involved in deadly Harlan County fire

HARLAN, Ky. (WYMT) - Several local music groups and artists will gather next week to host a benefit concert for a family affected by a deadly fire.

The event, that will benefit the Howard family, will take place Thursday, May 2nd from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Harlan Elementary School.

Two twin toddlers were found dead inside the family's home following the fire on April 22nd in the Totz community. Their mother, Allyson Howard, died two days later at a Georgia hospital.

The father, Chad Howard, is still fighting for his life at that same hospital. We are told he underwent several surgeries in the past week.

A Facebook post for the event states the concert is free, but donations are encouraged and will go to the With Love From Harlan organization, which has already raised more than $13,500 for funeral and other expenses for the victims.

Here are the acts scheduled to perform:

Dakota Saylor & The Bloody Harlan Band
Sunrise Ridge
Brooklyn Collins
Justin Taylor
Tyler Smith
Kudzu Killers
