PINEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - A Bell County man pleaded guilty Monday to charges of sexual abuse after a Kentucky State Police investigation that began in January 2017.

Douglas Hensley, 42, was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a victim under 12 years of age, one count of third-degree sexual abuse and one count of distribution of obscene matter to minors.

On January 12, 2017, KSP learned two young girls told their school counselors they were sexually abused in 2015.

During the investigation, police learned Hensley sexually abused three girls. One was eight years old and two were 11 years old. He also was accused of distributing obscene matter to a 12-year-old.

A detective arrested Hensley on January 19 of that same year. He was indicted on May 3, 2017.

November 26, 2018, Hensley pleaded guilty to all charges and received eight years on both counts of first-degree sexual abuse, 90 days for the third-degree sexual abuse charge and 12 months for the distribution of obscene matter.
