Police: Woman wrestles gun away from home intruder

Johnson County Sheriff's deputies say a man broke into a house on Thursday night.

Deputies say, Kenneth M. Asher, 35, of Nicholasville broke into a home in Paintsville where a woman and a five-month-old child were inside.

The woman took the infant into a bedroom and locked the door.

Deputies say Asher and the woman ended up fighting for the gun he had with him. They say the woman was able to grab the gun from Asher.

Deputies asked Asher to show them his hands, however, he did not listen and was tased.

Asher was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, resisting arrest, endangering the welfare of a minor and menacing.
