Appalachian Wireless Arena planning for 'busy October'

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - The Appalachian Wireless Arena has announced a host of shows to take place at the newly-named arena later this year.

Marketing Director Josh Kesler said the arena is trying to bring in "a little something for everyone" with its new lineup of concerts.

"We just announced metal, country, and now Christian," Kesler said. "If you say there's nothing to do in Eastern Kentucky, I think we can - I know we can - prove you wrong."

Kesler said he is excited about all of the upcoming shows.

The first concert is headlined by Black Label Society on October 2, Newsboys will take the stage on October 20, and The Charlie Daniels Band will perform on October 26.

"There's going to be a very busy end of the year," Kesler said.

He said more plans are in the works and will be announced as they are finalized.
