Ambulance catches fire on Hal Rogers Parkway, no injuries reported
An ambulance's engine caught fire on Hal Rogers Parkway in Perry County Thursday morning.
No injuries were reported.
Perry County's E-911 Center tells us the ambulance had a mechanical issue, which caused the engine to briefly catch fire.
It happened near the North Fork Kentucky River bridge, a half a mile from Exit-451 leading to Hazard.
We had a reporter on scene and they told us they smelled smoke in the air but did not see any flames coming from the ambulance.
Perry County Ambulance Authority and Avawam Fire and Rescue responded to the fire.
No roads were closed because of the fire.
