'First in the country,' 911 dispatchers memorial completed in Hyden

HYDEN, Ky. (WYMT) - Wednesday dispatchers and officials cut the ribbon for what would be the first 911 dispatchers memorial.

Dispatchers broke ground back in May when they announced their plan to bring Kentucky's first 911 dispatcher memorial wall to Leslie County.

The memorial sits along Highway 421 in Hyden in front of the dispatch center.

Those who organized the project say it is the first memorial wall dedicated to 911 dispatchers in the country.
