JACKSON, Ky. (WYMT) - Two people are recovering after being swept away by flood waters in Breathitt County.
It happened around 12:30 Monday afternoon about 1.5 miles up Highway 1098.
Officials tell WYMT the two people, a man and a woman, were walking along the bank of the Kentucky River when they fell in.
We're told they had been in the water for around an hour and half and were found holding on to a tree in the water.
Crews from Fish and Wildlife took a boat out and were able to rescue the two people.
Both were taken to Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, but appeared to be ok.
