Original Story, Thursday

Kentucky Fish and Wildlife reports a 19-year-old man drowned in Morehead Thursday.

emergency crews responded to a call at the Twin Knobs Campground at Cave Run Lake.

The young man was swimming when he went underwater for several minutes, a witness said.

"It was kind of chaotic. We didn't know what was going on. They just said to form a line and start dragging your feet to look for a body," said Casey Weaver, a witness.

Weaver said it did not take long for someone in the search party to find the victim.

"I mean it was just heartbreaking. We immediately started crying. Pretty much it was just...he was just so lifeless and it had been so long," said Weaver.

Weaver said she learned that the man who drowned was floating on a raft when a wave knocked him off. The victim could not swim.

The victim's identity has not been released at this time.

The coroner says the victim is not from the Rowan County area.
