CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - One person was arrested and another suspect is on the run following a motorcycle chase in Clay County Friday morning.

Deputies with the Clay County Sheriff's Department were patrolling on South Hwy. 421 when they tried to stop a motorcycle around 2 a.m.

A man was driving the motorcycle and a woman was a passenger. The woman would be later identified as 28-year-old Felicia Simpson of PawPaw road.

The man refused to stop for deputies and took off.

The sheriff's department said the chase lasted six miles before the pair got off the motorcycle and ran from police.

After a brief foot chase, Simpson was arrested. Deputies tried to find the man at the scene but were unsuccessful.

The sheriff's department said during the arrest, Simpson gave them false information on her identity.

Simpson is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police on a motor vehicle, second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot, giving an officer a false name or address and theft of identity of another without consent.

She was taken to the Clay County Detention Center.

Deputies said they know who the man is. They are waiting on the county attorney's office so they can file charges against the driver.

They expect an arrest to be made soon.
