I look forward to the opportunity to cover the great schools that I grew up watching here in Eastern Kentucky, and some that I even competed against.
For me, being a broadcaster isn't just a job, or even a career, it's a dream come true. My dream of working for a television station began in the 3rd grade when I was given the lead anchor position with my elementary school's news team, a role that I spent 3 years doing. From that moment forward, I knew that being a broadcaster was what I wanted to be. I chased that dream all throughout grade school, leading me to my college of choice, Western Kentucky University, where I graduated in May 2017 with a BA in Broadcast News and a minor in Sales.
I joined the "Mountain News" family shortly after graduation. WYMT has given me a special opportunity, not just fulfilling my dream, but also the opportunity to cover the area that I was born and raised.
I'm from Somerset, Kentucky, and went to Pulaski County High School. I ran cross country for the Maroons for 12 years. Although I'm now an avid Hilltopper fan, I grew up a Kentucky Wildcats fan, and I still love rooting for the Big Blue anytime they aren't facing the Tops.
I look forward to the opportunity to cover the great schools that I grew up watching here in Eastern Kentucky, and some that I even competed against. Although I'm a little farther east than I grew up, I consider the mountains my home.
When I'm not covering sports in the area, I enjoy watching more of my favorite sports teams, the Miami Heat, New York Giants, Nashville Predators and the never ending struggle of the Cincinnati Reds.
If you see me out and about, feel free to come and say hello! I look forward to telling the great stories and scores that Eastern Kentucky has to offer.
