Starting at Western Kentucky University, and here at WYMT, I am following my dream; reporting the news and helping people in my community.
I’m a Tar Heel by birth, born in Charlotte, NC. I’ve also lived in Michigan, Texas, and since I was 10 my family has lived in Evansville, IN.
I was Student Council President in 8th grade, and in high school, I was chosen as a commencement speaker for graduation. In both speeches, I was tasked with telling my fellow classmates to follow their dreams. While telling my classmates to follow their dreams, I too had to make sure to follow my own. Starting at Western Kentucky University, and here at WYMT, I am following my dream; reporting the news and helping people in my community. I am excited to be part of the "Mountain News Family" and serving the people of Eastern Kentucky.
I’ve always talked, and I’ve always told stories. When I was little my parents gave me headphones with a microphone connected, like football coaches often wear. They were never connected to anything, but that didn’t matter. Loving sports from day one I became a great coach in my bedroom with my headset on, talking and telling stories. Starting the day I put those headphones on I started on my path in journalism.
When I have free time I love sports. Football and hockey are my favorites, but college basketball is becoming something I love as well. Being a Hilltopper I’ll always be partial to WKU, but I can feel a bit of Big Blue starting to sink in!
