The Harlan County Public School District announced that they will be close to in-person instruction at all schools the week of October 5th through the 9th.
Restoration Christian Academy returned to in-person classes Monday. It all happened after multiple enrollments as parents were searching for in-person learning for their kids.

On Thursday, July 23rd, the Morgan County Board of Education voted to start the school year all virtual. Their starting date as of now, is Wednesday, August 26th.
At Middlesboro, students were originally scheduled to return to classes on Tuesday, August 25th. We have not seen any updates since Governor Beshear’s recommendation to delay the in-person start date to September 28th.
Students are set to go back on Thursday, August 27th in McCreary County. The district will begin the year fully virtual with the district reassessing the possibility of in-person learning following the fall break.
Leslie County students were originally scheduled to return to classes on Monday, August 24th. With Governor Beshear’s recommendation to delay the in-person start date to September 28th, officials with the district are meeting to come up with a plan.
Before Governor Beshear’s recommendation, Knox County Schools were set to return Monday, August 24th with preschool beginning on Monday, August 31st. We do not know if that is still the case.
